My Journey.....
I grew up in a conservative middle class family in Bangalore, India at a time when career options were largely limited to becoming a doctor or an engineer.
Not very outgoing at that age nor bold enough to pursue my own path, I simply followed the norms that was expected of me and completed by bachelors degree in Engineering .
However , by then I had clearly realized that this was not the path for me and I decided to pursue Masters and get an MBA degree! I was in my 20s and this was the first time , I had realized how our actions and decisions impact our future !
I took the bold step and made the decision to not pursue engineering path and went ahead completing my MBA! Investing those couple of years to get my MBA and shift my career path proved to be a great decision later on as I began to see how life is all about choices and decisions you take will shape your future!
My personal life took a turn when I got married and immigrated to US ! New Country , New culture , New way of life- was it tough in the beginning ? Of Course it was!
I remember how I struggled through getting work permits, getting my first job , stammering and hesitating to speak up in meetings , did not voice my opinion in front of an audience but things got better and better once I started to face my own fears and truly gained my inner confidence!
Over these 18+ years of working in Corporate America , I was able to achieve many things that I really want and now through my own career coaching programs and through corporate training workshops , I help ambitious professionals stand out, gain visibility, build influence and fast track their success at workplace!!
